PROFESSIONAL GRADINGS & QUALIFICATIONS

THE BLACK BELT

Many people mistake the black belt for a professional qualification, when infact the black belt represents the ability of a students basic technique, usually from an instructors syllabus.

THE SYLLABUS
There are hundreds of martial arts schools across the country each one offering something different to the next, this could range from free suits with membership or free introductory classes the list is endless but why does every member of the public never ask about syllabus training? simple they just do not know what it is. A syllabus is your training manual and reference point to a students ability and your instructors ability to teach you to a set standard or grade.

PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS
There are many types of martial arts instructors, how do you know yours is genuine and the real deal?
This can be very difficult to prove, a professional instructor and his chief instructor should be registered with a governing body and his syllabus should be internationally approved and recognized by the sports councils this is acheived by international testing of the instructors syllabus and instructors gradings through an independant gradings commitee who grade the instructor or chief instructor to the highest standard or benchmark. This standard is then passed down to the instructors students or YOU.

GRADINGS
All professional martial arts clubs, schools, academies and associations should register gradings and certificates directly with the governing body to give the students accreditation for the grading they have taken from white belt - 3rd Dan otherwise the grading is pointless and in most cases voids any validity for future reference or the ability to become a recognized martial arts instructor for insurance purposes and can often end up costing a student a martial arts career.

passed via examination.

gradings are broke down into 10 kyu gradings and 10 dan gradings.

AMERICAN SPORT KICKBOXING
(semi-contact & full-contact)

WADORYU SPORT KARATE
(freestyle english & japanese karate based on fighting techniques)

TRADITIONAL WADORYU
(traditional japanese karate)

SELF DEFENCE
(short & long range)

All examinations include a

ALL 3 SECTIONS OF THE SYLLABUS INCLUDING FITNESS TEST MUST BE COMPLETE AND PASSED VIA EXAMINATION BEFORE ANY BELTS WILL BE AWARDED

THEN CHOOSE FROM OUR 3 OPTIONAL SYLLABUS COVERING
KATA 10 CERTIFICATES. GRADINGS START FROM £10.00
PAIRS WORK 10 CERTIFICATES GRADINGS START FROM £10.00
WEAPONS 10 CERTIFICATES GRADINGS START FROM £10.00

ALL GRADING TESTS ARE PERFORMED IN-HOUSE
YOU WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO TRAVEL.

ALL GRADINGS ARE HELD EVERY 3 MONTHS

CHILDREN AGED UNDER 8 YEARS CAN TAKE INDIVIDUAL CERTIFICATES IN CLASS TOWARDS THE FULL GRADING

ALL STUDENTS AGED 8 & ABOVE WILL BE GRADED ON A SET DAY EVERY 3 MONTHS

ALL CLASSES ARE INSTRUCTED BY

ALL GRADINGS ARE TAKEN AT THE A.K.K.A ACADEMY YOU ARE REGISTERED WITH UNLESS ARRANGED WITH THE CHIEF INSTRUCTOR.
